In a setback for the Shiv Sena (UBT) a day ahead of its plenary in Worli and two days ahead of the Shiv Sena’s foundation day, former MLA Shishir Shinde, who shot to fame in 1991 after he and a group of Shiv Sena workers dug up the Wankhede stadium pitch to disrupt a cricket match between India and Pakistan, resigned from the post of deputy leader and also quit the party.
