Mumbai: Inside Kurla slums, kitchens set up during lockdown still feed the needy

The Khana Chahiye Foundation, an organization working towards "Zero Hunger" in Mumbai, has been providing meals to over 2,000 below-poverty-line families during the Covid-19 lockdowns. This has helped individuals like Kaderinath Mulla Patel, who struggled to make ends meet, and Nisar Sheikh, who had to support his mentally-challenged daughter. The foundation runs community kitchens in Ulhasnagar and Kurla, and relies on crowdfunding and volunteers to carry out their relief work. The prevalence of urban hunger in India is a significant issue, with many people lacking access to sufficient nutrition.
